Bio
I am originally from Jamaica, and I currently live in London. By day I work as a scientist, and by nights and weekends, I am a blogger and travel photographer.
I show people how you can still see the world even with a 9-5 job, just by utilising your annuals and weekend strategically.
What Inspired You To Help Launch BTA? What Is Your Ultimate Goal For The Organization
It was after reading a lot of blogs and going to a ton go conferences and never seeing anyone that looked like me, much less was from the Caribbean and didn’t start their sentence with I backpacked through Bali to ‘find themself or did a gap year”, there.
I didn’t see anyone in the travel sector that I could relate to (that’s why I also started my own blog). So, when talks about forming a group that would help give black content a voice and showcase how talented black creators are, I was all in.
My goal is to see a foundation being laid, so that fantastic black content creators of the next generation. Have a place to find resources, share their stories and have their voices heard.
Somewhere that they feel supported, but most importantly remove the barriers of not being seen by brands and help them get paid fairly for their amazing work.
When I’m Not Fighting For The Cause, Things I Like To Do Are
I love running, dancing around my house with my cat, listening to a good business podcast and trying not to kill my houseplants. Plus binge-watching Netflix series.
My Favorite Food/Drink I’ve Had and In Which Country
I love chips or french fries to American’s. It’s just one of those things I will eat anywhere in the world, and everywhere does there’s differently.
